Karl Marx, Carolyn Parrish Quip of the Day
Save this online in Del.icio.us. [?] Vote For this PostI was thinking about former Liberal MP Carrolyn Parrish's anti-Americanism and her stupid remarks to that effect. Ever notice how similar she could sound to Karl Marx? Birds of a feather, I say.
That being said...
Centrerion Productions presents: Carrolyn Parrish as Karla Marx in the new film: Struggle Against the Capitalists ! Comrade and Comrade give it equal fingers up.
Sample line: "Damn Yankee imperialists! Blue collar unions unite! Destroy the capitalists and their evil Factors of Production!"
Crazy Karalyn!

As someone who identifies in some sense as progressive, are you really that keen to follow the path of the political culture in the United States, in which "left" and "liberal" get treated as the same thing? Do you see no point whatsoever in distinguishing between a nationalist with liberal politics and a tendency to shoot off her mouth without thinking, and people who are actually on the left? Does it not occur to you that red-baiting liberals more strident than yourself just prepares for the day when the right red-baits against you (not to mention irritating those of us who are actually on the left)?
Umm, I think we're having a misunderstanding Scott.
I'm referring to her as a former Liberal... for being formerly part of Canada's Liberal Party.
Additionally, I'm not sure how you can assume I'm treating them the same, when in fact I made a point of distinguishing liberalism from democracy the other, day which tells you that I distinguish liberalism from left-wing politics.
As to red-baiting, I unfortunately must admit that I'm not certain as to what you mean by the term. I understand it's some reference to taunting people and some reference to communism, but I'm not sure I understand what you mean...
As to being red-baited myself... again, I'm not sure what you're referring to.
But... if you mean that I should be worried about being ostracised and called a communist, well frankly, no I'm not too worried about that. I realize people will shoot off at the mouth anyways, and I can't control that. Why worry about it?
If you're saying I'm somehow doing a grave injustice to Carrolyn Parrish... I just thought this was a funny idea, and too good to pass up. I'm not saying she's a communist, only that she's so extremely left and close-minded and loose-lipped that she could conceivably come out with some sort of stupidities as I said above. She was kicked out of the Liberal Party for a reason.
Oh, and the fact she's far-left and an ex-Liberal are not identical in my mind, just to make that clear.
